Keep up to date with everything gardening at the Brentwood Centre

Welcome to the Brentwood Centre garden blog. This is where you let you in on what’s happening in our garden direct from our green fingered team and volunteers.

Our resident gardener Melvyn, has been looking after the garden in lockdown and wanted to keep you informed of just what he has been doing to ensure the garden is still thriving whilst our doors are closed.

This is what happens when lock down happens at the busiest time of the gardening year. Flower and vegetable seedlings moved outside and inside each day to protect from cool nights and hot sun and watered regularly to keep healthy.

The Brentwood Centre greenhouse is empty for now but ready for cucumber, tomato, pepper and aubergine plants when we are allowed to return.

Many are finding a solace in gardening right now and it is giving them hope for the future.

Not sure what to do in your garden? There's lots of good gardening advice available online, especially from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Keep those fingers green,

Melvyn
