NB: Saturday 30th June: The main pool will close at 2.15pm instead of the scheduled 3.15pm.
Please note Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 6 - 8pm the Swimming Club will occupy 3 lanes in the main pool.
Swimming Sessions
Fitness Swimming: The main pool is divided in to 2 slow, 2 medium and 2 fast lanes. Swimmers can then swim lengths at the speed that suits them, ages 14 years and over or at Management’s discretion.
Casual Swimming: The pool is open to the general public. 1 lane is always open in the main pool for lane swimming.
Water Workout: Exercise to music in the shallow end of the main pool with our qualified instructor. No booking required - pay on the day.
Splashtime: A separate session offering fun with inflatables, floats etc, in both pools.*
Adults Only: This session enables adults to swim without the disturbance of those under 16 years.
Aquacess: Sunday sessions organised for those swimmers with special needs.
Aqua Mobility: Gentle exercise in the water for problems such as arthritis, osteoporosis, muscle and other ligament problems.
Swimming Club & Masters: If you are interested in either competitive swimming or swimming to a coached schedule, then why not join the Swimming Club or Masters session (over 25 years old).
Private Lessons: Courses of 5 lessons on a one-to-one basis may be booked to suit pupils aged 5 1/2 and older.
Parent and Child: 6 months - 4 1/2 years old. Parent or guardian accompany the pupil in the water. Classes are age grouped to achieve best results. During lessons, babies should wear an aqua nappy. These can be purchased from main reception. (All lessons allow 5 minutes for registration).
Pre-School: 3 1/2 years - school age. These courses act as an introduction or progression from Parent and Baby classes. The teacher will collect and return pupils from the changing room entrance. Entry into pre-school classes is by teacher recommendation only.
Juniors: 4½ yrs and up. Junior courses cover all aspects of water skills under the Star Award Scheme, including stroke techniques, distance, lifesaving and water safety, speed, stamina and poolside safety.
Adults: 16 years and up. Courses range from beginner to advanced levels.
Male, female, disabled and family changing rooms are provided. Please shower before entering the pools and use the lockers provided (50p) for clothes. It is not permitted to leave clothes in cubicles at any time. Food and drink is not allowed in the pool or changing area at any time.
* The inflatable obstacle course will only be in use if the required lifeguard quota is present. If not, then the floats will be in the main pool as well. Please call main reception on 01277 215151 on the day to confirm.
