Fitness In Mind™ is an award winning initiative designed to promote, encourage and provide physical activity as an aid to mental wellbeing.
Sport and physical activity are proven to boost self-esteem, reduce stress, and help prevent or reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, but getting active when you’re not feeling great isn’t easy. Low motivation, social anxiety, self-image issues, uncertainty regarding exercise, and financial expense, can all hinder us from using this vital and hugely enjoyable life tool.
At Fitness In Mind™ we strive to support individuals into fun physical activity, helping them establish and maintain a healthier lifestyle for both body and mind.
All our classes are run by specially selected, qualified instructors, and friendly Peer-Support Volunteers, giving expert tuition, emotional support, and guidance towards other useful organisations.
Our #Exclusive courses are produced for Fitness In Mind™ members requiring the maximum support from the Fitness In Mind™ team. Each session will be allocated with a project activator to organise the logistics, and at least one qualified peer support worker to help facilitate group support and to offer mental health and wellbeing signposting. Courses should be designed around a drop-in arrangement for all abilities, with steady progression and a big element of fun and encouragement.
Cost: £3.50 with Concession Card. Free for Members. £5.00 for Non-Members.
Our #Inclusive sessions are produced for Fitness In Mind™ members requiring the minimum support from the Fitness In Mind™ team. Each session will be allocated with a project activator to organise the logistics, and to offer basic mental wellbeing signposting. Sessions are integrated with Brentwood Centre members and should be designed around a drop-in arrangement for all abilities, with similar progression as any mainstream session.
If you're happy to complete the full enrolment form now, then you don't need to register. You only need to register if you don't feel like completing the full enrolment form until your first visit in person.
When joining our free Fitness In Mind course, you'll need to complete the full enrolment form before taking part. You can either complete the enrolment form online now, or upon your first visit (remember to arrive 30 minutes before the activity to complete the form!).
By registering, you can reserve your place on the course without completing the lengthy enrolment form - although we'll still need those details from you before you take part in your first activity. We'll give you a quick call to help you through the enrolment process.
Whether you are a Yoga veteran or a complete beginner, join us for your First Step into Yoga. Taking place in our tranquil Holistic Hub you will improve flexibility through poses adapted to your ability, also experiencing deeply calming relaxation sessions. Renate has plenty of teaching experience from babies all the way to seniors, so can tailor the session to your needs.
