The one and only Chesney Hawkes |
The one and only Chesney Hawkes will be playing ‘Joseph’ in their production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat 14 – 15 April 2018 This April, The Brentwood Centre is taking an exciting new step forward with a community production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat and is delighted to confirm that the title role will be taken by Chesney Hawkes. Featuring around 150 in a massed choir, this concert-style production is an exciting celebration of the modern musical, with Joseph having recently turned fifty years old. Producer Mark Reed said, ‘I have been in the show as a child and an adult, and put on a concert-style production in London in 1998. In recently moving recently to The Brentwood Centre I wanted to replicate the show with local performers and I was therefore delighted when I heard that Chesney was available to play the title role. I have already spoken to him and we chatted about the wonderful community work at The Brentwood Centre too.’
Director Peter Dayson said, ‘I have been in many different productions of Joseph and was delighted to be asked to Direct this at The Brentwood Centre and a huge community choir of mixed ages and abilities. To have Chesney singing Joseph is going to be wonderful and is already boosting the choir numbers and ticket sales. We have one or two surprises in store that are going to make this production incredibly exciting.’
Chesney Hawkes said ‘I am absolutely delighted to be involved in this production of Joseph. |
