Children in Need 2010
After the success of our Macmillan coffee morning, we had the fundraising bit between our teeth and Children in Need was just round the corner. So with all the enthusiasm in the world, we set about organising a Children in Need carnival party on the 19th November 2010. The event had a wide array of entertainment, including the list of entertainers below, as well as Go Bonkers inflatable company filling up the hall with their bouncy castles and climbing wall. The centre of the hall had many fete style stalls and were ran by volunteers and staff. There was also a stage in the hall for all different types of performances by the Street team, Kayzar dance and the wonderful Roger Arnay Circus club.
During the day we also had a charity coffee morning and also a splashtime in our pools. A special day was made even better when Pudsey the bear came down with BBC Essex and visited all of our swim scheme members and also did a bit of lifeguarding!
All in all we raised a total £1200 which was a great effort considering the adverse weather conditions that occured just before the carnival started. We would like to thank everybody that was involved including the entertainers, stall volunteers, staff and anybody else that helped make the event a success.
